Oil and diesel
Due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine, oil and oil products such as diesel and kerosene are no longer allowed to be shipped to the Netherlands. There is currently no oil shortage.
Diesel is made from crude oil. It is important for many different industries such as for transporting food and other products by truck or ship, as well as for ambulances and fire engines. And, of course, some passenger cars run on diesel.
If diesel becomes more expensive, it could affect the prices of a lot of products as higher transport costs for example, are (partly) charged on in the price.
